Street Bombs Kill Three People

PESHAWAR, KOMPAS.com - Three people including two paramilitary soldiers were killed in roadside bomb explosion in northwestern Pakistan's tribal district of Orakzai, Saturday (22/01/2011), officials said. A homemade bomb planted by militants exploded in the town Ibrahimzai when a routine patrol paramilitary soldiers passed by, said a security officer. "Two soldiers and a civilian were killed in the blast," said Abdul Qadir, a local government official told AFP. Seven other people - a soldier and six civilians - were wounded in the blast near the market in Ibrahimzai it, he said. A military officer in the provincial capital Peshawar confirmed the incident. He also said the injured were taken to local hospitals. Orakzai is one of many regions do not obey the law in Pakistan's northwest tribal region, which comprises seven districts near the Afghan border.
