TOKYO, KOMPAS.com - Japan has successfully launched the unmanned spacecraft goods towards the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday (1/22/2011) early days, said the Japanese space agency, JAXA. HTV2 spacecraft named Kounotori 2, which means the white stork was launched from Tanegashima Space Control Center at 14:37 local time. The aircraft will deliver about 4 tons of scientific equipment, personnel needs, spare parts, and computers to the ISS. If all goes according to plan, Kounotori 2 will arrive at the station on 27 January. Launch HTV2 associated with the H-2B rocket booster originally scheduled on Thursday but were delayed due to thick clouds overshadow the expected launch platform.
